🎉 Bringing People Together: Our Winter Celebration
At Others First Foundation, we believe that community isn’t built in boardrooms it’s built around shared tables, shared moments, and shared purpose. This past December, that belief came to life at our annual Winter Celebration, where volunteers, guests, and community members gathered to enjoy an evening of warmth, music, and togetherness.
The event was more than just a seasonal get-together. For many of our guests including older residents, people living alone, and members of voluntary organisations it was a rare chance to connect, feel seen, and celebrate the end of the year in good company. From the moment people walked in, they were welcomed with homemade treats, festive decorations, and the sound of live music echoing through the room.
One of the highlights of the evening was a series of performances by our talented volunteers. Keyboard melodies and flute solos created a peaceful, joyful atmosphere, while others sang familiar tunes that got everyone tapping along. Guests smiled, clapped, and even shed a few happy tears. As one attendee put it, “This is the most I’ve laughed in months.”
The event also included a shared dinner, generously prepared by supporters and volunteers and warm conversations between people from all walks of life. Some had never met before; others were reconnecting after long periods of isolation. But everyone had one thing in common: they were part of something meaningful.
This is the heart of Others First Foundation. Yes, we provide space, support, and services for charities and voluntary groups but beyond that, we help people feel connected. Whether it’s through collaborative office space, project mentoring, or events like this one, our work is about enabling others to serve, lead, and belong.
We’d like to thank every volunteer who helped decorate, cook, host, or perform and every guest who brought their presence and spirit. You made this evening unforgettable.
Stay tuned for more stories from the charities we support and the communities we love.

Making Space for Good: Why Supporting Charities Matters
At Others First Foundation, we often say we’re not just giving charities a place to work — we’re helping them build a future.
Across London, hundreds of small charities and voluntary groups are working tirelessly to support people in crisis, connect communities, and make society fairer. But behind every food parcel, advice session, or community event, there’s a constant struggle most people never see: finding affordable space, paying rising costs, and staying sustainable.
That’s where we come in.
Others First Foundation exists to help charities help others. We provide low-cost accommodation, practical support, and shared spaces for collaboration, learning, and growth. Whether it’s a desk, a meeting room, or a warm venue for a public event. We make it easier for grassroots groups to focus on their mission, not their bills.
In the past year, we’ve:
-
Supported a number of small charities by giving them access to office and meeting space they couldn’t otherwise afford
-
Provided free or subsidised event space for community meals, support sessions, and youth workshops
-
Facilitated volunteer-led projects that brought people together across age, background, and belief
We know from experience that a safe, well-resourced space can make the difference between a charity surviving or folding. That’s why our work isn’t flashy but it’s vital.
We don’t run every project ourselves. Instead, we amplify the work of others, making sure that the small, powerful organisations changing lives every day have the foundation they need to keep going.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking to connect with:
-
Local authorities and funders who want to invest in lasting infrastructure for the voluntary sector
-
Volunteers and professionals who can offer time, mentoring, or skills
-
Charities and groups who need space or support to take their next step
If you believe in putting others first, join us.
